Occupational therapy and Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is indispensable as per the Mental Healthcare Act 2017 for equal opportunities and rights of Persons with Mental illnesses

The Department of Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation is another crucial department for the rehabilitation of persons with mental disorders and mental retardation.

Services

Individual assessment of behavioural aspects, deficits and excess among patients, to develop appropriate rehabilitation plan e.g. IDEA, Job Fitness etc.
Individual counselling of patients and their family members as per their need e.g. pre & post ECT, pre-vocational, vocational, post discharge, family counselling etc.
Provide occupational therapeutic services to re-establish the person with their family and make him/her independent (e.g. Group Therapy, Behaviour modification, Basic life skill training etc.)
Knowledge and recreational activities such as library, outing, movie shows etc
