Vocational Skill Development Division
Vocational rehabilitation is a proven strategy for reintegration in the society and inculcating self-worth
The division focuses on development of vocational skills for both IPD and OPD patients for income generation activities. It facilitates comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with mental disorders and mental retardation.
Services
The Vocational Rehabilitation Division extends services to persons with mental disorders and mental retardation by moulding mal-adaptive to adaptive behavior through modification techniques:
- Skill enhancement including industrial skill development through training and collaboration with Jan Sikshan Sansthan for particular trade.
- Individual counselling of patients for motivation towards constructive work and to inculcate punctuality and responsive human behaviour.
- Ensuring engagement of patients in vocational activities in accordance with their interest, existing skills and level of education.
- Training for sales, marketing and finance management; and communication skills development.
- Sensitization of school/ colleges/ NGOs/ Corporates towards potential of such patients and their work.
- Training of relatives of the patients for sustaining home based work.
- Linkages with government schemes such as Mission Mangalam for self-employment.
- Job placement support and recreational activities.
- Appreciation of care takers through certificates.
