Hospital for Mental Health, Ahmedabad organizes the community outreach services, wherein a team of specialists reach the door step of the patients and provide them with diagnostics, clinical treatments, counselling and rehabilitation services across different areas of Gujarat.

Services

The team led by Psychiatrist from HMH Ahmedabad regularly conducts OPD outreach services in different districts as per the need. Along with treatment, the HMH A initiated a specific outreach camp approach wherein the assessment of the person is done at the spot and a disability certificate is issued to them.
In collaboration with the Department of Social Work of Gujarat Vidyapith, HMH conducts an awareness program especially for the rural population. This awareness program focuses on the various types of mental illness, removal of misconceptions, facilities available for the treatment of the same, as also the rehabilitation process of the persons with mental disorder.
HMH uses such opportunities to create mass awareness among people through exhibitions on mental health issues. During a year, a minimum four to five mass awareness programs are conducted by the Institution in urban and rural areas.
Under Institution based Awareness Programs, HMH conducts institution based customized awareness programs for different vulnerable groups like jail inmates housed in prisons, beggaars’ homes, Nari Sanrakshan Kenda, Bal Sanrakshan Kendra etc.
